Job hopping question

If you got to an orientation then go with a trainer and leave it does go on your DAC. Its not usually a negative mark. Depends on why you left.

 

I drove for Werner went with a trainer and quit after training because they wouldn't give me credit for my previous experience. I had to train because I hadn't have recent experience. Mine was a pay issue

 

i had i similar experience...left because i had neglected to ask and they didnt tell me they were paperless. looking back, it was a stupid reason to leave, but i was not at all happy about elogs. it did go on my dac report, and i tell them exactly why it was and exactly how stupid it was. in your case, if they told you you would be getting x and instead after training they told you youd be getting y, then that would seem to me to be a valid reason to anyone who is reasonable. it also kinda depends on what actually shows up on your dac...if i were applying for a job i would first go to hireright and order a copy of my dac report sent to me. then i know what i will have to explain to anyone who asks

 

Guys, a way to make sure your DAC looks good is don't job hop. Stay with your first carrier for a year at least, that's like your golden ticket to bigger & better things.

 

All depends on the Carrier you drive for at the time... Some Carriers Report to DAC.. Others do not. Either way job hopping is not good for your future... if you notice some companies requirements are "no more than X jobs in 3 years".... or they say "Satisfactory work History".... Like Joesph said... Stick with a carrier for at least a year.

 

Don't work for companies with a high turnover.

 

Job hopping is not your friend. Before you make the decision to work for any company just starting out in your career or an experienced hand....do some research and ask lots of questions both at the interview and of current AND former employees of the potential employer. But ask yourself first.....is this a company that I can retire from...I know this is "old school" thinking , and trucking jobs....especially entrance level jobs may have changed , but IMO its good advice.

 

I have worked for 8 or 9 companies over my career and only JBhunt did not get at least a year. If you stay a year you will probably be in ok shape. Only give a company less than that if there is something really, really wrong with it. That said, the grass is greener is a phrase to remember.
