OP....there are companies that will help you get over here. Be very careful. Some of them do not have your best interest in mind. Some of them will take advantage of you almost at a criminal level. There are a number of companies around Chicago that have a number of drivers from your part of the world. Like STexan said....quick Google search and Craigslist search will bring up a number of them. Just be careful. Some will get you here on a contract, with a huge penalty if you break the contract. In exchange you'll get lousy pay per mile, a truck poorly maintained (which eventually will waste your PSP score and make you not hireable), and more work than you'll be able to figure out how to do legally, and probably be a shady 1099 position too boot. There are good companies that will help you. Just do a lot of checking before you take an offer. Good luck.

Answering original question I don't it's easy or even possible. If it would be easy US would be flooded with foreign driver (no X1,it isn't yet).OP should try Canada, their provinces have some special programs for drivers.

True that Chicagoland companies have a lot of EE drivers but all of them already been here at the time of hire and vast majority are either US citizens or US permanent residents. There is most likely few left who obtained CDL before IL changed renewal regulations but less and less every month as they aren't able to renew their licences.

Living and working in Ukraine, I'm sure he will be accustomed to being pushed to physical limits just to make mediocre pay. In fact driving 90-100 hours a week on paper logs will probably be the easiest job he's ever had

I thought you were a European immigrant who is a truck driver? I just thought you might have some advice for the guy. Didn't mean to offend you.

You didn't offend me.Yes,I am an immigrant and yes I drive a truck but I am also permanent resident and been in this country for quite few years before I started driving.
I don't know anybody who got here on a "truck driving" visa so it must not be easy or even possible.

He will have to probably run Chicago - Omaha or a little bit thereabouts. It will be the closest to Ukraine Terrain as far as his country goes. Ive been following Ukraine since the fighting started in the east around Debaltseve which is a major junction and part of the coal country for the old Soviet economy. IF he was to come here, there will be so many ready to abuse him. To take advantage, to steal etc.

There is one thing, one American dollar will exchange to a stack of Ukrainian money whatever that is called these days. It wont take much wages sent back home to make his family happy which might invite them to be picked on.

Ive been a enemy of USSR during the cold war days but since we don't have that anymore, I prefer after a time of change to try and make friends of that part of the world. But not too friendly.

Ukraine has a rolling land very similar to Kansas, Iowa etc. He will be very happy running that part of the USA. We do offer many other challenges which he will not be familiar with and needs a very strong trainer to be able to face those challenges.

Again not to beat a dead horse, I want him to come here and become an American Citizen if at all possible. We are a immigrant nation. But lately there has been a less than positive infection of our trucking due to the poor quality of immigrants from certain lands. It breaks my heart. But I better shut up before someone breaks me for talking so boldy.

    Thank you everyone, guys!
I've read a lot of new information
I should note that I have experience in the Europe, I mean I am not driving only on Ukraine roads .. I riding across Europe as well.
Actually, I want to stay in America permanently. I looking for a new life there.
I think I should ask the same question on the Canada forum as well... There are not a lof of difference for me - Canada or America, just want to leave out from my country. It's hard to stay here in Ukraine. Hard times there.
