Much of the time it's a third party recruiter just throwing some BS add up to get responses. Once they get your information your cell phone and email account info is sold and spammed like crazy. As others have said, the mega's also use that tactic to get more calls. Craigslist is full of scammers. I try to avoid it if at all possible.

There have been times I've advertised without mentioning names because I was looking to replace a driver that wasn't cutting the mustard, so I could have a smooth transition.

so i did what one does, mailed in my resume.
oh boy.....
the boss never said anything, but i had found out thru a worker, he was going to replace me.
the boss went golfing every thursday i think i recall. i had a pick up truck then.
i loaded up the truck and took my stuff home, then got a job about 2 weeks later.
that's about the time i guess i learned the hard way that a 2 week notice was not needed, as no boss gives us a 2 week notice. they wanna play dirty, i'll play dirty.
later found out too, the guy he hired, stole some stuff and he fired him. another guy he hired, never showed up.
all i wanted was more money, and less work days, i was tired of 6 full days of working, for a paltry salary of about $200 weekly. . and for that, he wanted to replace me..???sevenmph, TheyCallMeDave and Coover Thank this. -
Also, what you said about a 2 week notice is something I've always believed in. If for whatever reason the boss man see's fit to fire you, you won't be given a "2 week notice" so that you can secure another job and not go broke, so I apply the same logic. The only way I'd do 2 week notice, is if I were to be working for a smaller company where I was treated respectfully, and my sudden leaving would really throw a wrench in operations. Outside of that rare occurrence, I'm gone. That might not be popular opinion, but it's how I see it. -
In the end, it really still is a very small world, and giving notice, where appropriate, is probably a good policy. You never know, your terrible manager may leave and the new manager is a great guy you want to work for -- but if you're black listed for a bad separation, it limits choices.Last edited by a moderator: Jul 22, 2018
