Maybe I want my cake and eat it too, but I am starting to look for another driving job. I will list my preferences (not necessarily in any order) and will sit back and wait for comments, flames, etc. If anyone knows of some companies that might fit the bill, I would appreciate a heads up on it.

BTW, I live in Texas, went to a well respected CDL mill/training company with 8 months OTR reefer experience.

    Thanks guys!

    • Would like a regional job running below I-40 but will take an OTR as long as I am not forced in NE/NYC runs. Im done with those! :)
    • Looking for a company that will not push me to run illegal because that just aint gonna happen
    • A company that takes care of their equipment and gets repairs made

Oh, I have a clean record. No tickets, accidents, etc and I have no criminal background.

I ended up finding a job thats mostly local with an overnight every now and again. Just got signed off of training today after 7 days. They said last guy took 17 weeks! Had my first over night trip last night and sure was nice to stay in motel rather than a sleeper.

I am seeing that local jobs are out there for guys with less than a year experience but you have to look. I actually turned down 2 other jobs. One was local and the other was regional.

One of the jobs that I turned down was the intermodal (sp) division for Schneider. Home every night, etc. Was impressed with what they had to offer. Might see if they have something similar in Las Vegas.

    Averitt was another one.

    Good luck!
