I havnt actually talked to the recruiter. I'm kinda worried about what i should say bc i know I don't have pay stubs or tax info. I figured after my drug test and physical ill mention it. I figure once they pay for that stuff it would motivate them to work with me a little more.
They probably think it's a w2 job and havnt even thought about it to be honest. Thought id get some advice since this guy is acting shady so close to actually needing him to uphold his word and verify this.

These types of questions sometimes amuse me a bit. You must ONLY account for the time. You could have spent a year in the south of France chasing women. This is what you report. Part 391 does NOT say what you HAVE to be doing, it only wants the carrier to account for the time. Stop worrying about this. Just report the time and what you did. If the carrier wants more info try to get them what they are asking for. Outside of that please don't make this process more difficult than what it is!

I have a family to support and I can't risk it. So i like to call it, " doing everything i can to make sure im not screwing up a good opportunity". Why wouldn't I spend 5 min to write a post about my experience on a trucker forum about a trucking concern i have?
Not trying to be rude but i just feel like you lack of concern shouldnt be the norm. And definitely shouldn't be ragging on anyone for being a little concerned (not completely sure that you were).
Butt speaking of the devil. He just contacted me. I put a Facebook post asking someone to print out work documents for me and he messaged me. This is what i wrote to him. Lol
"Dude im so glad to hear from you... Please don't burn me for Oakley man. I know your stressed. And I can give you money too. But Kelsey got it printed at her job... Im going to ask Oakley what they need Monday. Did you have a chance to call that lady at Indian River Transport? If not it's not a big deal. I just really need you to talk to Oakley when they call. And like i said there's no information going to IRS or anything like that. Just going to verify my employment history and file it away and never look at it again. Its required by them bc they have to verify my last 3 year's by law bc they need to know who I drove for with my CDL....in case i was in accidents or failed drug test and that kind of stuff. I don't mean to sound so worried but im stressing man. This is the best job I can get. I spent a lot of time researching."
He said
"Ill talk to them no problem. I dont need any money"
But ptoblem is, he's said that before and hasn't. Im sure everything will work out fine but kike i said. I just thought spending a few minutes to make the thread and get some input wouldn't hurt anything at all.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
First I wish you well in your career as a driver AND I hope you find a job.
Next, for your peace of mind STOP paying attention to 90% of what you read and see in not only these forums but others like them AS well as Truckstop and terminal scuttlebutt.
You SHOULD NOT get an orientation date until the carrier has done at least a quick check on you. They will scan your application and will let you know BEFORE orientation if there is a problem. Most drivers that get sent home from an orientation either lied on the application, popped a positive on a drug screen or can't pass the physical.
As for my concern I am concerned, I'm just trying to get you to understand this stuff is not that hard. A good carrier will get you through this process.Southtxhauler420 Thanks this. -
They say they did odd jobs for cash while looking for a decent job; electrician, landscaper, house painter, auto mechanic, etc.Coffey, rachi and Southtxhauler420 Thank this. -

One we have so many people that are new and present a problem on these forums. Then proceed to not tell all the information. There is one such thread on the main page still today. They do this really bad with regard to drug testing. We do get some really good questions and as @REO6205 has said repeatedly the debates and back and forth serve a good purpose. To drag them to another place can be the kiss of death for that topic.
This work history, as well as most of the things MANDATED by Subpart B as well as Subpart C of part 391, can be so confusing to a new driver they almost throw up their hands and go find other work. These Subparts are ALSO NOT FULLY understood by the carriers themselves and to avoid a problem with an FMCSA safety compliance audit they go hard and want to do anal exams! This was not what the DOT wanted part 391 to be.
So while it may have seemed as if I was not showing the level of concern you felt I should have. Believe me when I say I was trying to calm your fears about this process.
I will close with this. Before you leave for an orientation make sure all your ducks are in a row! Make sure everything on that application is right. Make sure you answered every question (AS ASKED) not what you think was asked. As I said before, Good luck!
