Do you still work for Tesoro (Arco)? Was wondering if they will consider me even though I have no experience in tankers. I have 10yrs with my CDL thanks!

 

Ok I'll give him a call. Is Ben the hiring manager? I wonder where the Arco trucks deliver I rarely see them.

On the 710 at Firestone look east and you'll see about 100 of them. Ben is the regional terminal manager I'm not sure he has any hand in hiring drivers. That's probably corporate in San Antonio. You apply online when a spot opens up. I was told by Rick (the vinvale manager) to apply online if I ever wanted to drive for arco.

No they are the best for sure. I just can't do the commute. It would be 2 and a half hours of commuting per day for me vs 10 minutes now. Also I would have concerns about the workload, pulling 5-7 loads per day 5 days a week is very difficult. I usually do 2 or 3. I did 4 today and my feet and back hurt and I'm only 30 years old lol. Those guys definitely earn the pay that they get.

 

Lol. I'm same age. I haul pet coke out of chevron refinery and do about 10 loads a night 5 days a wk. But it definitely sounds like hauling fuel is much more exhausting. Ours is just bottom dumps. So Arco guys aren't driving that far like I thought they did. Even better for me. I like to be home every night.

 

Do you drive one of those blue trucks that go 70 mph down the 405 at 1 am?
