Hello to everyone!!!
I have been wondering if there are many jobs for drivers in Australia? Is it possible for a foreigner (American) with a valid tractor/trailer license to be sponsored by an Australian company for immigration purposes?
And what about working in/for mines? Is there really a huge need for workers in the mining sector?
Thanks in advance!

The mining sector has a HUGE need of workers, but you need to speak with somonewho specialises in imigration to this place. They are funny about some requirements.

Good info!
Any info on gettin an Aussie work permit/visa? Links etc -
Laws are lot more relaxed over here compared to the US, no such thing as sponsorship, as long as you have a work visa you can gain employment over here in Aus
Check out the immigration site for invo on all visas

The purpose of sponsorship is to GET a work visa. But yes, Australian rules seem a bit more laid back.

G'Day guys n gals, any idea how it works the other way around? I live in Australia and was wondering how one goes about getting a work visa/sponsorship to drive in the USA. Would be nice to have a change of scenery, I've driven all over Australia in semis and B Doubles over the past 5 years and loved every minute of it seeing the country...well, except trying to sleep without a cab cooler when its 110+...ugh!
Looks like I've got quite a bit of reading to do on the forums yet as I've just joined up, so off to make a coffee and start sniffin' around
Cheers mates ! -
have a look about the us, but dont discount canada, as they are a lot easier for us to get over and work with.
