Jobs in ND Oil Patch

I saw a CL ad in Kansas today wanting CDL drivers for ND.

 

Some really great info here! I am just joining in but have been following the CityData forum since Nov. Looking to get into the oilfield and after 100's of online apps and a couple of job fairs, I decided CDL was the only way to go.

I am in AL and have my permit with all endorsements and should graduate from CDL school by the end of FEB. (not sure of exact day due to testing schedules) Really looking for Equipment Operator with a rotation but not sure which companies will hire right out of school. I had started looking in ND back in NOV but at this point willing to look at any location for the right package. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

 

Gisquid, I don't have 7 posts yet so i will respond here. I'm not Canadian. I just put in an application to see if anything would come of it. From what i have read i will have to get a work permit to work in Canada and it takes about 2 months. I was planning on going to the job fair in Red Deer, Alberta on March 21st. Sanjel is going to be there and they have the same openings as well. I have a phone interview with Baker Hughes on Monday and i will be asking a lot of questions after i find out how serious they are about hiring me. I have 17 years piping design/installation on Nimitz class carriers in the machinery spaces so i hope that is close enough to the oil side to get me a face to face interview. Canada oil jobs ads seem to be more open to taking people with no experience. I will also have to look into the tax problems if this goes any further. Thanks for the info, i will try and look this guy up and see if i can pick his brain.

Weatherford is bringing a new frac crew to ND next month. Oasis Well Service is starting up their own frac crew next month.

Weatherford has an ad on www.jobsnd.com. Oasis is advertising on www.theshopperinc.net

Also, there is no BJ Hughes.....it's Baker Hughes (recently bought out BJ Services)
