I remember when I was first driving a truck back in the 90s I stopped at the Iowa 80 for my break.
I went in and was looking for some magazines or
books to buy and read. This was before cell phones and laptop computers where available to the average truck driver. I did not see any so I asked this young lady working there where are they located. In a nasty tone of voice with attitude
she said we dont have"those kind of magazines"
What a little c#### she was! I almost decided to
say something to the manager but realized what difference would it make. I never did stop there to often ever since. Ya they like truck drivers money
not the driver that spends it though.

The last time I stopped there was about 2 years ago, on a Sunday morning. I stopped to grab a cup of coffee to go. I went inside and as I was making my coffee 3 bus loads of Chinese tourists came in, it felt like I was stuck in a swarm of Bees. I couldn't get to the register because if them all buying their little souvenir trinkets, shot glasses from Iowa, post cards, refrigerator magnets and the usual do dads, that I might add are made in China anyway. I left, no coffee and went back to my truck. On my way to my truck about a dozen of said tourists were roaming the lot taking pictures of the trucks. I left, and haven't been back since.

This is probably going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life. Any company I've worked for, it seems like once you give that two week notice, they dog you around. Now conveniently my next load is routing me right back by the terminal.

Take pictures of your truck and do a walk around with somebody and get stuff in writing in case they start playing games. Seems like a lot of the big guys act like deepsheets when somebody turns a truck in.

    tow614 and anj8488 Thank this.
