I only stopped at this Flying J because it was the
closest one on my route to my delivery tomorrow.
I just.couldnt believe it when the same guy with the same BS story came up to me asking for money. Last time I stopped here was the summer of 2011. I just wonder how much a guy like this takes home every week? Being a professional moocher is probably a good way to make a buck. -

Where I live they arrest beggers. You usually see
them in or near the big cities. The guy probably gets food stamps and disability checks from the government to boot. The new American dream a shining beacon of hope to to the lazy of the world. -
We were surprised at the amount of them on the street corners in California. Much more than we had seen elsewhere.
I was parked in the supermarket lot waiting for my wife doing some shopping and I had no less than 3 young people come up to the truck and ask me for a handout. -
Thats because the economy in California is going down the toilet. Have you been thru Las Vegas recently? The whole city is crawling with beggers.
They are all over the place. I was in Phoenix a few
months ago. I saw a bunch of them living in a hobo camp under a bridge next to the place I was
delivering to. And the government keeps telling us
how the economy is getting better every day. I guess if you have all your money invested in the stock market your doing pretty good.Bumper Thanks this. -
Vegas is a bad example. There's always been beggars there because of people losing everything. SoCal too with all the people who went to make it big and failed.
chowick1966 Thanks this. -
Also California doesn't freeze in the winter if you stay out of the Sierras. Not much motivation to put a roof over your head.
Have heard a couple of radio interviews where stop light beggers could pull $300 to$400 cash each per day. A team of 4 worked one corner and watched out for each other. And that was in the 90s...... -
Headed to SoCal out of Caldwell. Down 55 to 95 and yadda yadda yadda. See ya when I see ya!
