The Coleman I had lasted just over a year then the motor started making all kinds of noise. Right when I didn't want noise. Like in the middle of an all-night drive or sleepfest. I would have paid more for a higher quality unit that worked quietly.

And oh, don't you wish a police officer would drive by just then...

The old colemans were nice...i would get about a year out of a motor and replace it for 15 bucks. I had ordered a couple of them from coleman but after i used my last one the motors were no longer available. I couldnt get 6 months out of the chines ones so i went with the koolatron. Had it about 8 months now and no problems so far. Highly rated plus i have a smaller koolatron that i have had for 6 years and still runs great.

I'll never buy another Coleman as long as I live. I swear to it. The fridge I have is a frigadaire with a nice sized freezer and I'm picking up something I can cook on, like a burner.

Doh! Here I thought you were running for Lessors. <blush>

Good info on the coleman. We had the electric cooler awhile back and it kept burning out on him. I thought it was because it wasn't meant to run 24/7 but maybe it was just because of crappy craftsmanship.

Hey Joe, how much did that frigid aire cost and where can I get one? I'm assuming that you plug it into your inverter.

I was hoping to get something w/ a nice freezer so we'll get him something like what you're set up with. Was also thinking about a burner like a camp grill or something so he can get all 4 star when he wants. :-D

OK, I'm gonna throw this out there, and don't laugh, because when I suggested it to Mars (the hubby) he laughed. Any of you thought about the camp showers and a pop-up shower tent? You know if you can't get to a truck stop and you're at a rest area? I said don't laugh!!!

Too late, already laughing.:biggrin_2559: I would be more afraid of somebody wanting to join me in the shower. Lots of weirdos out there. I don't think I could do that.

Walmart sales a rinse free body wash that the shuttle crew supposedly used. I use it when i cant get to a shower but i usually get a shower every other day. Over the years i have seen all kinds of contraptions people have tried to rig up.

I think it was $200 at Lowe's. He has a Cascadia, he can put it on the floor and still have room back there. And yes, can plug it in the inverter and it's a-ok.
