There is free truck parking at GATS in Dallas. In case somebody needs a place to park. I saw signs around the convention center directing traffic to the free parking lot. Going to head over there soon to register and official opening.

Its great to be back to work again. I drove for two days, about 1000 miles or so.
I stopped at the Pilot in New Braunfels TX, on I-35 exit #184 to get fuel. I got a
whole lot of water in my tanks. I drove 12 miles and broke down. Got towed to the
Freightliner dealer in Converse TX. I sat there till yesterday and got towed up to
Byron TX, to get my truck repaired. I am sitting in another Hotel getting paid to do
nothing but eat, sleep and watch television. Thank you pilot for giving me a paid
vacation after being back to work for only two days. I am not sure how the other
40+ drivers that your incompetence has put out of work are doing right now but I hope
they get back on the road again ASAP. From the information I have received your company
may very well pay out between $500,000 and possibly $1,000,000 for your negligence.

This has been pretty much a crappy week....oddly enough not because of short miles (a little over 3,000) but the incessant waiting has been a joke. Sunday night (drop 1) 2.5hrs, Monday morning/afternoon (drop 2) 5hrs, Monday evening (wally world, temple TX drop 3) 5.5hrs, Tuesday morning (pick up) 6.5hrs, this morning (drop 1 on this load) 4.5hrs....total time: 24hours detention time: probably around 4....I just wish the trucking companies would tell the shippers/receiver to ram it until they start paying detention...but we all know the Swifts, Englands, JB's, and pretty much all do not have the intestinal fortitude to even contemplate things like that. Oh well. Onto one of my least favorite tasks.....preparing to switch into a different truck tomorrow!!!!

You know it is going to be an "interesting" pickup when:

    1) Dispatch confirms you have an interlock on your difs.

    2) The broker warns you the road in is a bit tight.

    3) The shipper says he will guide you in from the T intersection

Glad it was dry and daylight doing that one. Panoramic views from the Pacific to other low peaks around once you were @ the dock.
Sunny Creek rd, Carlsbad CA the shed @ the top ........

I've had conversations like that-there was that warehouse in Houston...reminds me, again, why I, um..."miss" it.

    Or not.

Well they couldn't get my truck running so I am back at the hotel here in Byran TX, till Monday.
My dispatcher told me if they cant get it running by Monday that he will get it towed back to
Nashville TN,. I figure that's about maybe 850 miles at least. That should cost maybe $6000
or so. They already have paid two different tow companies a total of $2500. A TA road service
truck $350. Another $790 to put me in two different hotels all week long. They told me if I need
to spend money on anything including a taxi just keep the receipts and I will be reimbursed. If I
get towed back to Nashville I am getting a rental car. I am not riding in a tow truck that far. I am
also being paid breakdown pay and this Freightliner dealership here in Byron has already run up a
$1000+ bill on this situation. And just for the record Pilot Inc. is paying for all of this. I am sure
that SEC will all so charge them for putting their truck out of service, probably at least $1000 per
day. I just wonder what the total bill will finally be for all the trucks put out of service because of
    this screw up by Pilot....
