I agree. Not getting political. But many have abused it and turned what we had into socialized medicine for them, with the rest of us footing the bill. In a way, this actually stops that from happening. Far from perfect, and screws more than it helps.

I can keep my autistic son on till 26, which means the world to me. To me, it's a (and I hate to use the term being an atheist and all) godsend. There's a lot of good there.

He could but there are restrictions with disability. Depending on the state in which you live, they limit you with certain things.

Just a thought, when you get to a certain age in this business, yoyu start worrying less about CPM and more about the total package.I have worked for outlaw companies that will run your but off, for .35 CPM,but at the end of your week all you have is a 1000.00 paycheck,I would rather make 800.00 have good insurance and a retirement, than a fast truck. I played the billy big rigger game the first 15 years I drove. Now its time to be sensible before its too late.

And the trucking gods have smiled upon me. Picked up the load, got up here with 00:00 on the clock and a Miller Transporters was pulling out of a spot as I pulled towards him. I guess I'm back in favor with the Chrome Ones. Lol.

That happened to me after delivering at the Price Chopper DC up near Albany NY awhile back. Late night delivery after running all day. Got finished up and headed to the Pilot (had 5 minutes left on the clock) at the end of I-88 for my 10 hour break. As I figured, by that time it was parked full. I planned on parking along the curb and sitting in the drivers seat figuring that sooner or later someone would leave. I wasn't even finished jockeying into position when I got a shout out on the CB from a driver fixing to leave. He had a prime pull through spot and said he'd wait till I got lined up for it. I did, and then he left. It sure is nice when things work out like that, isn't it?
