My family did a couple of generations ago, and I continue the tradition.
My problem is the Pacific ocean keeps me from getting any further away from the East coast without jumping to Asia. Yes I have considered Australia.

2014!!! Civil war has been over A LONG TIME read on the INTERNET that the SOUTH LOST !
joseph1135 Thanks this. -
When is the east/west civil war starting? Because I wanna join the west. But California has to be part of the east, along with Nevada. The west shall claim Ohio and Pa. (Except Filthadelphia, they become New Jersey, unless Jersey don't want em, at which time they will be pushed into the Delaware river)
We'll have Joe for president on the west, and the east will have Dennis Rodman...25(2)+2 and joseph1135 Thank this. -
The former Confederate states contains the largest population and industry in the USA.
Texas leads the US in economic growth. The international airport in Atlanta GA. is one of
the major airhubs of the world. The most popular tourist destinations in the US are all in the south.
Almost all new automobile manufacturing plants built in the last 25 years are in the south. The south is the future of this country. They don't call
the north the rust belt for nothing. Over priced and over taxed. You make fun of people with southern accents? Have you ever heard anyone from New York or Boston. Oh I forgot most of the major cities of the northern states are about 80% foreign born. I have met decent people in every state I have been in. That's all of the lower 48. The friendliest by far live in the south. To each his own.anj8488 and Voyager1968 Thank this. -
all the industry was in the north
moved to the south for cheap labor
now it moves overseas
i am glad someone wants to live in the south but i cant breathe in the humidity
now where did i put my cigarettes -
I live in the NE (Pennsylvania to be exact) and other than my home state, I hate the whole region. The climate, the congestion, and the attitude are most of it. I'd much rather live anywhere from North Carolina on south, or out in Arizona. I'm stuck here though, so I have to tolerate it. Anytime I get a run down south, I jump for joy as I love running down there as well.
The Challenger, anj8488 and Air Breeze Thank this. -
My family are all Yankees. My father was from Philadelphia, my Mother was from New Jersey. I still have a lot of cousins that live in that area. My family goes back 250 years in Philadelphia. None of them live there anymore. They went south after WW 2. My father was a career military man , I was born in Atlanta GA, when he was stationed near by. When I was growing up I lived in a lot of places. Texas, Florida, Virginia and Germany. I never lived
in the north. I am not a native of Tennessee. When I tell people I live in Tennessee they usually tell me I am not a native of Tennessee, that I sound like I am from New Jersey. LOL There are good people and bad people in every region of this country. Most of the rude nasty ones I have dealt with where in large cities. People up north tend to be a bit more rude for some reason. Maybe it's the long winters. Maybe it's because it's a boring place to live? Most of the foreigners I deal with in any area of this country are overwhelmingly courteous and friendly. It's the natives who have the bad attitudes. -
The biggest difference to me is us Yankees are just straight forward and tell it like it is.
While living down here I've seen first hand how two faced some people are. Sugar coated bs is still bs!
I prefer honesty no matter how brutal it is.zmpart and joseph1135 Thank this. -
