Dayton and Columbus, OH drops tomorrow
One will be 26 hours late because the "Friday" pick didn't get into the trailer till the we hours of Sunday morning.
Told dispatcher what was up on Monday. Phone has been quiet other than a polite ETA inquiry this morning.

Well, true to form, my 2012 kw660 broke down on i59 in Mississippi on my first load. Been at Empire Trucks Sales (a freightliner place) and as of noon had not been looked at yet. Everyone in ops and breakdown has been super nice and trucks do break down. Tow can expand on that...me and new-to-me trucks don't get along...or a long ways) but so far, very impressed with the benefits they have to offer. This is one deal that may be too good to leave unless the miles get super bad over an extended period of time. Tow's running good so far. Hope to be back on the road tomorrow at latest, gotta call the shop here and get an update. Hopefully they can get it squared away before COB tonight!

My first run was to rochester,ny....been years since i have been up here but this is the perfect time of year to be here...the fall foilage is fantastic and cool.weather is a nice relief to all the humidity of this last summer...
since having to leave SEC i went with Big G. They have some of the best benefits in the business (which is what i needed) and a nice increase to their pay package.
once scooter and i got here we found out that we can run the way we like...very little west coast but sometimes we just gotta.do what we gotta do. I am not getting any younger and the retirement they have is awesome...one thing they offer that i jumped on was the disability insurance. I have always said that i could afford to die but not get sick not that i plan to but i no longer need to be concerned about the financial hardships that go along with prolonged illness or injury.
us older guys realize the importance of that and there is more to consider when taking a job than the cpm...
i am now close to home and continue to work for a driver oriented company ...yes i will be on the east coast now but i have blood pressure pills to deal with it...lolLast edited: Oct 16, 2014

Was up in Rochester on Monday and I agree it was nice. I do like this time of year for the foliage.
Hope you and Scooter enjoy the new company. And why did he break his truck on the first trip? You could have at least waited a bit. Just kidding.tow614 Thanks this. -

It was fun up until 22 when we were leaf jumping and someone put garbage bags under the leaves, lol. We used to drive down the streets in my buddy's El Camino and jump out of the bed into leaf piles. And then the neighbor played a trick on us, lol. We used the same car to go "ski". Holding onto the back while my buddy drove. Until we got caught by the Bethlehem police, who appreciated our ingenuity, but reminded us how insane it was....
