Well, well, well. Guess what I found here? A first-ever Craigslist ad for South East Carriers...in Grand Rapids! I guess maybe they do have a presence here in Western Michigan. If their goal really is "not to trick you with fancy wording, but instead earn your respect and make you part of the South East Carriers family," I might give them a shout.

The people that work at SEC are the nicest people I have ever worked for in this business. They usually kept me pretty busy when I was there.
I know I can make more money and get better benefits some place else but I don't like being just another number on a computer screen. I also
detest driving in the northeast and you wont see any of that driving for SEC. They pretty much leave you alone if you know how to do your job.
You wont see any of the micro management that a lot of these trucking companies and their safety departments specialize in. Its not perfect but
when you find something that works for you then stick with it. I am finally in a position where I don't have to spend the rest of my life constantly
driving a truck to get by. I may drive for another 10 years if I can take a few months off every year to enjoy life and give my health a chance to
recuperate. This company has what they refer to as customized home time. They also have plenty of freight up in Michigan. Give them a call. -
Do you have any idea of their route structure? Is it "48 state" (minus the NE) or do they stay in one region? If so, which one? Do the get out West at all? Do they require and/or carry hazmat? Their website is pretty basic...

They pretty much run a lot from tx to SC to oh and MI and back to tn..occasionally loads out to CA and Washington

The only east coast I ran was to South Carolina once. when you are at the terminal in Lawrenceburg TN, most of the time they offer you a choice of loads.
Up until September a lot of my runs where to California, Arizona, or the northwest. I was running a lot of freight in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. I also
ran up to Ohio and Michigan. I generally took loads that where going south or west, I try to avoid going north if possible. They have a lot of freight that goes
to Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. They don't have forced dispatch, you don't have to go somewhere you don't like. Of course you will not get the miles either.
They mostly look like they run in the south, west and Midwest. they lost a lot of the west coast freight the last few months I was there. the only time I had
to sit a few times was the last month I was driving I had to sit awhile to get a load after delivering on a weekend. I turned in my truck in mid November so
I cant say where most of their freight is running now. My average paycheck after taxes was about $800+ on average. This is sufficient to meet my needs.
Like I said to me the big plus with this company is the way they treat me and I never go northeast. I know I could make $200-$300 more a week and have better
benefits with another company but I don't need the aggravation that usually goes along with that type of company. They also have been very flexible with
the amount of home time I take. None of that one day off for every week on the road. Remember I am not a recruiter I am just giving you my honest opinion.Last edited: Dec 13, 2014
