Landstar is not a bad place to park your truck. Learn that loadboard and make friends with some agents and enjoy the $$$$
tow614 Thanks this. -
Did you get tired of running produce? There are a lot of Landstar guys on the forum as well. I keep seeing Landstar trucks going up to Alaska too. Maybe you should look at that lane. Hope all goes well with your new venture.
I might as well let the cat out of the bag. I have just finished my first month as a full fledged motor carrier. After I worked myself out of my last job I went out and got my own authority, bought my own truck and trailer and off I went. So far so good and the first month went better than expected.Bumper, popcorn169, misterG and 6 others Thank this. -
Good gig to have! I hope you make oodles and oodles...and I don't mean noodles!Last edited: Mar 28, 2015
vikingswen Thanks this. -
Now that I have learned the produce games it's not so bad. Mostly changing to chase revenue via percentage. Previous place was mileage based and they were not increasing base mileage pay to match other companies. I will be watching the t.c. loads on Landstar to see if it makes sense to buy a refer trailer.
On the Alaska thing: I'm a breach bum. That much potential ice makes me whimper like a beat puppy. Second I owe the Feds money so passport may be a problem.
Raising a cup: to toast your, my, and DD's progress and to our continued success.vikingswen and DenaliDad Thank this. -
Wish all of you well with your new adventures.
Blu_Ogre and vikingswen Thank this. -
I just got done polishing my truck and I cannot believe all the rock chips it already has. The back wall of the sleeper looks like it has been shot with bird shot. By the time it is paid for it is probably time to get rid off it again. Need to get those half fenders asap. On the bright side the windshields have not been broken yet.
