I was in and out and off active duty by then too. I was an E6 in the reserves in 79.

Please tell me if i was wrong here....

I back into a spot for the night and go into the truck stop for dinner....

when i come back out my truck was a bit cool so i turn off the a/c on my tripac..however my tripac comes back on and continues to run...charging the batteries since i use 2 coolers plus a cpap machine...

Now i have never had anyone complain about an apu running before since i try to back up so my apu is well behind the cab of the truck next to me but this time i couldnt go as far as i would have liked but was still behind the truck on my passenger side...

as i am finishing my paperwork and getting ready to go to bed i see the guy in the truck on my passenger side motioning to me..i roll down my window and he asks if i intend to run my truck all night...i explained it was my apu then he says it is not that hot and you dont need your a/c running...

i explained that it was running to keep the batteries charged..he was a middle eastern driver and was being polite-ish and then said since there was plenty of parking he was moving because my apu was keeping him awake...

i asked if he had an apu since he had a new truck and he said yes but his was quieter than mine....hmmmm

just when i started to offer to turn it off.... the idiots reefer kicks on

so i politely advised him to relocate since i was going to run my loud apu all night....

    some people.......:biggrin_25513:

The other night I picked a spot next to a refer running continuous so it would cover up all the other background noise...... GOOD SLEEP that night.

As far as the other guy that was next to you: He should be glad there were other spots open. You were as courteous as practical. I would have preferred him to be less passive aggressive but he figured out a solution to HIS problem.

I have a Thermo King Tripack E (electric) it's quiet! I've got a real fridge which uses a lot less electricity than coolers that run continuously and rarely have I run out of juice and had it shut down. I'll usually idle for an hour or so if I've got all the lights on doing things or if the suns still up and scorching me. I don't get dinged for idle time anyway so I make sure I don't kill my batteries.

Tow you handled it better than me.I would have politely taken a long walk off a short dock.

I just entered into Schneider's lease and I have a idle free system that went out the first time I used it. But at least it is real quiet though.lol. I have. small inverter to run my cpap. o
