Joseph, that is so effed up to be not funny. I would have lamped on the head with something long blunt and heavy and say God told me to do it. What a nonce.

You know, we're doing quite well at GTI and Heartland. The purpose of this thread isn't for me to continue that discussion, it is about "Joe and Tow's new adventures" and how they are doing. Bad weather is behind us, freight is abundant, life is good. Attended the GTI annual meeting last weekend where there was record attendance in the history of GTI, got to meet many long-time GTI drivers and the presentation of the GTI driver of the year with a $5,000 check to James Jones. Also got to meet Vern, a long-time TC driver for GTI, and Tom, another long-time driver trainer for GTI. Very good people. The atmosphere was celebratory and the Gordons reviewed the framework of our combination and how we are going to bring the best aspects of both companies together to build the best trucking company in America, and that we are taking it slowly to get it right and take the time to learn about each others business. Steve made a point about the injection of 1,000 new trailers this year, saying that was something GTI could have never done in the past to just go out and purchase 1,000 brand new trailers. This is a company on the rise. I know some people don't want to hear that, because it doesn't fit with the story they want to promote, but we can all have our own perspective. For some reason, some like to feel glee and cheer out loud when the few are piling on, but like it or not the GTI/Heartland combination is really one of the best things happening in our industry right now, and both GTI and Heartland are going to be much better as a combined entity than either one was on its own. HOAT.

As you said... life is good.. the merger has been great for me now that I am gone and I really dont give a rats patooey how gordanland does from here on. I am happy for the people there that they have jobs.

Even swift continued after buying MS Carriers but it didnt mean things were for the best for all those MS Carrier people.

No more mega carriers for me...where I am now feels like home and had heartland never bought gordon I would not be here. So I guess I owe heartland thanks for that.

This thread is now about the lives of ex gti drivers and it is time we all put gti behind us. We dont need to be convinced how well the corporation is doing. We really dont care...

Hmmm let's see did you expect Steve to stand up there and say something negative? Of course he's going to stand up there and act like a cheerleader.

As for the atmosphere being celebratory what did you expect from a company event where the goal is to pat themselves on the back and tell everyone how smart they were for working this deal?

Put away your pom poms and skirt please.

I hear ya. But some people seem to not want to let it go and have to put a 'dig' in GTI in their comments or comment how quiet I have been. For not giving a hoot what I have to say, some people sure get obsessed with my activity or lack of activity on here. I also find it curious how "GTI was so great and Heartland is going to spoil that" type of comments and then they turn around and bash how GTI always was in comments like "I could have never done that at GTI" etc. when talking about policies, miles, equipment, etc. You either liked GTI or you didn't pre-acquisition, can't have it both ways. And it is the honest truth that GTI or Heartland have not changed anything at GTI since the acquisition, that is people putting their own spin on things and attributing things to the acquisition that shouldn't be.
