By the way Tow, I am glad you are happy and doing well. I sincerely hope to come on here a year from now and hear that you are still with them, they are everything you thought they would be and more, and life is good.

I did well at gti before the buyout. Things went bad the last couple of months I was there and I attribute that in part to incompetence in much of the new support staff and a doomsday atmosphere at my home terminal. Take it for what it is worth but there was definitely a change in attitude by most of the support staff at gti. Most dont believe they will be there long term and are looking to move on.

continuing this dialog is fruitless.. there is no one here to recruit to gordanland and I have no plans of going back.

Missionary-spies have no place here spewing their 'religion' and collecting their data. Even when one is blocked, I still have to read his words when he's quoted. That, more than anything, would keep me away. I wish the mods would change that to block everything.

You have been quiet... I've been waiting. Naked. Lol. GTI was a great company. But in the end for me, it became a cluster in some ways. Because people stopped caring. Let me put it to you like this. When they handed me truck 10871, as filthy as it was and NOBODY LOOKED AT IT, numerous issues, that was the last staw. Taking me off a load that was decent to sit me in Lathrop for 28 hours to deliver 12 miles away also did it. On Thursday, I'll have over 7,000 miles for the last 2 weeks. It was hard to get that in a month at GordLand Trucking Express Inc in the end. And I don't turn down anything and have been told by several how appreciated I was for my "don't say no to anything" policy. In the end, you said no to me. Not you personally, but the company as a whole did. By not letting me make money and giving me faulty equipment, GTI/Heartland showed me the door. We are all out here to make a living. It's not that difficult.

Agreed. Being assigned a faulty truck = sucks. From a company's perspective, the people in operations want you to be productive, there is no conflict there, when you are making good money, the company is doing well. The real test will come here in March and April, as the horrible weather from Jan and Feb are behind us and we are turning down over 10,000 loads a week due to crazy shipper demand.

By the way, HOAT, another thing, about "digs". Usually when it comes to trucking and truck drivers, employers get the last word. They can get their "digs" in. This is TTR. Where we get our "digs" in. What recourse have we had before? None. Here is where the drivers can vent. Some do so and they've got no leg to stand on. We, however, do. Tow was there for 5 years. And he saw what happened. I wasn't there as long, but when you're called "money" and how you'll do anything and yadda yadda yadda, and you start to go in a direction where we can't make money, that's ###### up. We are out here, not just joyriding around, but to make money. To feed our families and make a better life for ourselves. This is our "kitchen" so to speak, and if it's too hot, then you know what to do. I have made more money in the last two weeks than I have with GTI for a while. And I will stress that point and tow will stress how much easier life is without 42 managers pulling you in all different directions and Chowick will tell of how he is able to enjoy his life and Denali is going to rock n roll and make us jealous. Here the ball is in our court. For once.

So is being dictated about how much money you can make from the office. One of the upsides that I see with Heartland taking over is the entitlement culture within the driver force at GTI will probably come to an end. It almost didn't matter how bad you screwed a load, you were still employed. Example: last month I was in Medford waiting for a "driver" to bring me a load from Sacramento. When my break was up, I looked for that trailer for a better part of an hour. Made phone calls, walked that lot, drove that lot to no avail. Was told "it shows on the computer it's there". It wasn't. The "driver" brought an empty all the way from Sacramento. That's one example of many. Many I was told about because "you'll get the job done".

Now if you'll excuse me I'm headed to Florida in the nice warm weather. Already got my shorts ready.
