I ended going to great plaines/Holland and the long haul is very much alive and kicking,my short runs are 1400 averaging 1500++ per run. Sofar so good.i was talking to a driver who works for Werner and he averages 400-500 per run if he's lucky!! He ls bumping so many docks,he's says he lucky if he gets 2000 miles a week at 32 cents per mile running mostly the north east, burning up the 70 sitting at docks and traffic! He pointed out that he does have a shiny new truck. Woo hoo. Some people just don't get it!!
chowick1966 Thanks this. -
Some people will do a lot for a new truck.
Me Im in Dayton Wa. Picking up in the AM and going to wi. a 1700 mile trip. No complaints on that.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
Length of trip was one of the reasons I ended up where I did.
Company is established from the Cincinnati area and wants produce hauled in from the west coast.
Salinas to Cincinnati is 2400 miles so when I come off home times I get 2400 mile trips. Return trip may split over 1 or 2 trips unless the east coasters need help then a couple of PA out and back trips before heading back west.
When things run smooth I figure on 2 round trips every 3 weeks = 10k miles every 3 weeks when in summer time casual mode. -
