I guess instead of waiting on the company to fax them or printing them yourself you have to walk the pooch in circles and wait for him to do his business.![]()

Question to you Reefer guys pulling long loads. I am 2 months in with my 1st Reefer outfit and I am also getting 1000, 2000, and 3000 mile loads. And I also prefer to run hard. I knew coming in about likely long waits at shippers and consignees. What has floored me is the extreme long waits to go deliver and sometimes pickup. Running hard (600-650) per day, I am consistently arriving 34 hrs or more before delivery appts. This is crippling my earning potential. Is this common to have this much extra time planned on loads. On 3000 mile loads not such a big deal but this has been every length load.

I recommend planning to arrive closer to your scheduled time. Reefer goods are usually Just In Time goods; arriving more than a day early crimps their loading/unloading schedules.

They may be planning for a governed @ 60 Prime truck....
Yep it is an issue that you need to keep an eye on. Not sure if you are Company driver or lease/owner op. Either way check into detention pay in your contract. See what your dispatching company says about it.
Make sure your broker/dispatcher is aware that it is an issue for you.
If they can't load plan you to YOUR liking find another Broker/Dispatcher.
Picking up produce there are issues with product still being in the field not harvested. Nature of the beast. I do not like it but find it MUCH easier to accept than the delays at food service/grocery Store dc type places.
I have let my dispatcher know that I have real business concerns about snagging Produce in Cali/AZ and then drop @ multiple grocers/Food service places. I will suck it up for a day on either end, but not both ends. Had to explain how MY numbers work now they get it and they make it work for both of us or I do not pull the load. -
Most load delivery times are based / bid on a 57 MPH truck regardless of the company pulling it , just booked 2 loads 2680 miles and they have 47 hours from pickup to delivery

Most the times I can get the shipper/ consignee to work me in, not always but most the time I call ahead to give a heads up.this is not guaranteed to work but most time it does. Kill them with kindness seems to work for me.

DTB,
Hes with HEYL. I think XLS would be better off with Lessors based on how Joe runs over there. Joe runs harder than the average driver I see here. No offense/disrespect to anyone reading this thread. Take a look at his numbers. Those are the numbers XLS wants to crunch.

I will agree with Joe running hard.
He now seams to have a planner and dispatcher that want him busy and making folding money not just coin when he's out.
That was the problem most of us had @ GTI not seeing enough miles ($$) /week.The Challenger Thanks this.
