Hey tow I just dropped a load at the yrd.
Your truck is still there. Im sure it will be
waiting for you when you return. They
offered me three diffirent loads. One for
Tallahassee FL,another for Tulsa OK, and
another for Wichita KS, All with multiple
stops. He has loads heading west but i
told him i want to get home for the week
end for some time off. I went with the load
for Wichita. Has more miles. This company
    has got its act together...

Thats funny just got a call from FM, says to
watch my idle time and use the cruise control
more often. Its kinda hard to use the cruise
when your driving out west thru the mountains.
Idle time? Those new systems are great when
they are working. Mine wasnt doing the job so
i let it idle some. If they expect zero% idle from
me it aint gonna happen. You always warm up
a diesel engine before you drive it.

Thanks airbreeze.....did you notice if my bumper was fixed....

I have an excuse when it comes to idling...i have a cpap machine and if i run the a/c at night i always get the low battery alarm by late morning and have to idle the truck. I do try to keep my idling down but if it's too hot i will idle some. No one has said anything about it yet but i doubt they will get too bent out of shape over it. I know when i did a reset i had to idle during the day since batteries were down from the night before and nobody said anything. I think as long as we are utilizing the park smart for the majority of the time it will be ok..

The cascadias are not getting the fuel milage we did at gordon. I think they set the gearing up all wrong in them. Thats why they are going to those internationals. At gti i had a fuel milage of 7.3 mpg for the life of my last truck with 387k that i put on it.

Well that was fun going up 138 I think it was from grand junction CO to Green river Wy. Flaming gorge is nice but its a lot of curves in the mountains. Now in Kansas cite mo for a 7am delivery and a pick up on the Kansas side going to pontoon for a relay and service in O Fallon. Then it should be looking towards home.

No they still havent fixed the bumper yet. I dont
think the low battery alarm works on my truck.
I forgot to shut my refrigerator off on Saturday night when I parked. On Sunday morning I still
had power but not enough to crank up the engine
Had to get a road service jump start that cost $140 They didn't say anything about it to me. I am
averaging 7.6 to 8.5 mpg with this truck. I dont
see how they can complain much. If they do I will
cross that bridge when I come to it.

7.6 to 8.5 mpg I would be giving you a bonus check not complaining about it.

My MPG depends on the weight of the load and
the terrain im driving in. I think the owners are
expecting zero idle time and want the cruise
control on 99% of the time. Thats not realistic.
I have always managed to get good MPG no
matter what truck i drive. Its all in how you
drive. Dont be a lead foot. Progressive gear
shifting. Dont run your RPM over 1500-1600
Heavy loads and mountains lower your MPG
    so does city driving.

    tow614 Thanks this.

I believe as long as they see some effort they will be happy... I think though they expect too much from that park smart system for what they paid for it they would have been better off with a tripac unit.

I saw a few of those trailers that they are
putting those wings on the back to improve
MPG. I got lucky the preloaded trlr I picked
up isnt equipped with them yet. They are
getting in 60 new trlrs and all of them are
fitted with them. They will have all of their
trlrs fitted with them within 2 months. I have
never used them before. They deploy automatically at 35 mph. Better watch out
when your backing up, if you forget they
are out your gonna hear a loud crunching
noise. Also you will probably have to close
them when you park at a Truckstop. They
look like a pain in the neck to me but i wont
know till i get to play with one.

They have sent quite a few msgs out recently
that say with the new park smart system your
idle time should be zero. When I spoke to the
FM he said I need to use the cruise control more
My cruise time is between 60-90% now. I use it
as much as possible. If you dont watch out you
will cruise right into an accident. I dont use it in
urban driving, bad weather or hills and mountains
He did not tell me what that % was supposed to
be. He said it wasnt him telling me it was from the
    owners...Whatever
