Well Illinois ranks high on the list of states with the highest move out rates so the tax base is probably dropping .

Yeah, one guess where they are coming. An unbelievable 264,500 people moved to Colorado in 2022, but they don't say almost 239,000 moved out. Almost 35,000 from other countries, kind of meaning, most of the immigrants stay. I'm glad I got here when I did( 2018). Most that move go to Cal. FL., or TX. or places where it's not so expensive to live.

I am one of the many that moved out of Illinois years ago after I quit working for the State of Illinois due to violations of conscience and saw the extreme level of government corruption firsthand. Some public accounts claim that over 75% of tax revenue ends up in waste, fraud, and abuse in the hands of the Illinois state government. There is one specific scandal that I am privy to that would mortify most people if they knew the extent to which players in the government use and abuse any and all funding made available to them.

Crumbling roads? That is nothing! As far as 80 goes I'm actually more concerned about the fact that so many toll roads in Illinois and Indiana receive massive amounts of funding but none of that actually seems to do much of anything as far as fixing the roads by whatever private entity receives the funding.

Dont forget Tn. Were getting them too . My town was a sleepy little Ag town , now its booming , 3 story condos a plenty . Getting onto the highway is a pain in the ### , traffic everywhere . Its so bad that fire dept cant use the hydrants straight out . Firetrucks have to fill the tank in fear of dropping water pressure so bad it'll suck the water from your home .
