Both seem like good starter companies. Plenty of info on Maverick to be found and not so much on Jordan. I do like that Jordan is smaller, family feel. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm 48 and in decent shape, looks like the trucking gods are directing me to flatbed.

I would do a check list even though you're just getting started. Where do you want to run, how much money, home time, training, type of equipment, etc. You said " Jordan is a smaller family feel". I would compare them side by side according to what you're looking for. All the best for you.

You can also check melton, central oregon trucking, R.E West, lone star transportation, william brothers and Tennessee steel haulers.

Finished with orientation and I have to say I'm thrilled to be at Jordan. Drivers with experience in my class from companies like Boyd, Maverick, Melton and TMC are happy too. I'll be making more as a trainee in 6 week's than guys with years of experience were making at those other companies. They are all getting big bumps. Training was thorough and they took good care of us all week. You can tell they don't tolerate BS, we lost about a quarter of the class .

Good deal. Sounds like you found a good home

Lately it seems, I've been seeing a lot of Jordan trucks. They always seem to be squared away in the right places. Best of luck to you.

Anything to add, OP? I’m glad I learned about them. Just got off the phone with a recruiter, and will be applying to them, as well as TMC and Cypress.
