Chris and Carol, congrats on the May hire and welcome to the husband/wife team crew (really, we're gonna need our own forum section soon). I'm looking to start school on Monday to join my better half on the road, where he's been for way too long without me.![]()
Keep bringing the updates... I'll be following eagerly!![]()

Well, Chris finally got the, long awaited, call today.
May Trucking called and his orientation starts March 7th.
I will keep this forum undated as the journey begins to unfold.
I have started a blog page if anyone is interested. If you wouldn't mind doing an email subscription or RSS feed sign up? That way you'll be notified on any updated I ad to the blog.
Thnx,
Carol
Hitman Thanks this. -
Where is your blog page and I'll sign up? I've been debating blogging so the non-trucking family can keep up on my new life. -

if you would be so kind to sign up for the e-mail subscription, so U will be updated when an entry is made?
Thnx so much for listening, support & your feedback! -
Carol, I signed up and read your blog. Liked it so much that I'm talking to Joe about setting us up a blog, too.
Do you write music, btw? I was reading your "Thoughts Toward God" section and really enjoyed it. -
I think blogs are pretty cool.
As far as writing songs, never have. I've been writing those "Thoughts Toward God" for several years now. Even had one published some time back, anyway I digress.
I'm glad Ur following along w/us, it's going to be fun! -
He passed all his driving tests:1. Road Test, which Chris thought he would be shifting a 13 gear, but he trained on a 10, so he was a little concerned about that. But before the road test the instructor asked Chris what he had trained on and Chris told him 10 gear. So the instructor told him to just to shift it like an 8 speed and not split gears.
2. Obstacle Course, also known as The Skills Test Area. He didn't hit any cones or run over anything and backed into all the places that he was suppose to.There were only four guys testing so the first day was quick and they went to the hotel shortly after lunch, after all the driving tests were completed.
Chris and I are excited that its finally beginning to happen! We did find out that Chris will have to team up with another driver for about 3 months, once hes out on the road. This is because May is replacing all their trucks with new ones and they want to be able to get all the truckers out trucking.
This means I wont be able to join Chris, as planned. But hey; you learn to go with the flow, right, (being flexible).
So while Chris is out there trucking I figure Ill study my CDLs to get my permit for when we do get out there together. Studying those to pass the test, successfully, will probably take me 3 months.
Chris's second day of orientation will be tomorrow, I will update the post when I'm updated!Trilleth Thanks this.
