Tomorrow am we, me and Chris, go pick up the truck and head out on the road, finally!! We're 3 days later then planned, but hey, it's all good!
Its a late model Peterbilt, 2009 or 2010, newer then the one they were previously going to give us. Its one that had been wrecked, but everything has been fixed/replaced, along with, a new paint job. We wont start out going the 48′s, just in case the truck needs more work, we will be staying Western 11.
God is in total control of everything and we are very excited that we are finally getting on the road.
So stay tuned I will keep everyone updated with our journey and pictures!

Chris and I got up at 4am to get everything loaded up and drove 2 hours to get to the truck yard in Brooks. I think it was the nastiest cold/wet/rainy day I've had been in for a long time. Once getting to the yard, we meet up w/our Driver Manager, John, ( JP). He gives us the key to our truck, we were so excited!
They wanted us to do an inspection and write down anything that was wrong with it then they would sign off on it. Well, it hadn't been detailed, the carpet was more then dirty, no mattresses, and the hood wouldn't latch, not to mention the engine light was on and stayed on.
We walked back to the office and spoke w/JP. He sent us across the yard to talk to the guy in the garage. He tells us the truck can't get detailed today. Then we go to another section of the garage and talk to another gentleman about the engine light. He says he'll take a look. We go back over to the lounge, keep in mind "it was the nastiest cold/wet/rainy day I've had been in for a long time". They wanted Chris to go to a few other buildings on the lot, he's such a good hubby, he offered to go while I just sat in the lounge w/a hot cup of coffee,
Long story short, Chris and I sat there for almost 7 hours to get the final word. The truck needs to be sent to Cummings Oregon to get the engine checked. So they are going to work on getting the truck detailed, totally cleaned and 2 new mattresses installed, then once this is done Chris and I will drive back to the yard, load all our belongings in the truck then drive the truck to Cummings to get the engine checked. Hopefully it's what Chris thinks it is, just needing reset. We just want to get out on the road to start our new life, not to mention $$.
The positive in all this, there's always a positive if you look, I got to see inside the truck and start visualizing the storage space. Needless to say, I'm going to go through my things, tomorrow, and break it down even more. :-0
Plus I got to spend the day in a truckers world, meeting a couple really nice guys and getting some really good pointers. And Chris did get the key to our truck, so we actually do have a truck, woo-who
So even tho "it was the nastiest cold/wet/rainy day I've had been in for a long time", and we didn't get to get out on the road in our tuck today, all-in-all it was a good day!
So we will start all over on Monday, and of course, I will keep the blog updated. . .Lady K Thanks this. -
