Journey Of A Thousand Roads

I wanna drive.....

But I guess I can't yet. There's a bunch of us here still waiting to get cleared today.
Just sitting around and waiting. I guess this is preparation for when we get on the road....

 

I never did figure out what they were waiting on, but I finally got over to the terminal and got some PTI training done. Never did get in a truck to practice backing or shifting. So I'm badged, comdata'd up, got some paper logs. (No idea what to do with them yet...) Got my ID's.

Finally met up with my instructor. He's a cool guy, a few years older than me. Lives in GA, not too terribly far from me. We seem to get along pretty well. (At least for now, ask me again in 2 weeks.....

He gave me a ride back to the Campus in his truck. It seems strange that I'm about to embark on a career in trucking and today was my first ride in a truck!!!

So, headed to the pad tomorrow at 0700 to practice shifting and backing, then he's already got a load to deliver to Tx on Monday. Plenty of time to take it easy and learn along the way.

I have to finish packing and laundry tonight but I'm so #### excited for tomorrow to being. I hope I can get some sleep!!!

 

I've read plenty of reports of guys sitting around waiting for loads. Are you saying it doesn't happen here?

 

Ahhhh, got up at 4:30 to do some laundry. I guess this is the life now ....

At least I'll get to see the sun rise this morning.
