What is it like to tarp a load of lumber, seems like lumber would be the hardest thing to tarp and secure. I don't really know anything about it but did you happen to get a picture or know of a video that shows tarping a load of wood.

What do you think is the hardest thing to tarp and haul ?

This was a no tarp load here dennisroc so no pics. Tarping lumber it's pretty simple though. Hardest thing I have ever tarped was machinery.

Off topic, but here it is.

im at home right now taking a 34. My brother wants to get on the truck with me until Christmas. Will Melton let me bring him along? I know they'll let your kids go, but what about other family members?

just called my DM to find out but he's on lunch.

Finally got ahold of my DM, yes he can. I just have to fill out a rider authorization form and fax it in.

I did a tarped load of lumber last week, my third flatbed load ever. Not too hard to secure and the only hard part about tarping it was that it was all different lengths in several bundles, so I had to watch where I put my weight. Oh, and the middle and back tarps were in each others spots (forklift put them up there) so I had to switch those. Took me a good long time but only because I'm still new.

Did a load of untarped pipe today and got set up with untarped building materials tomorrow so I'm feeling pretty good. Needed the time to let my wrists and attitude recover after untarping 53' aluminum trailer floors in 15 degree pre-dawn hours in Indiana anyways. Folding was easy but I might as well have been rolling up plywood. I barely made it all fit in the box.

I'm really coming to love preloaded trailers. Moving dunnage is a pain, but time saved waiting to be loaded is great!

    dennisroc Thanks this.

I had the same issues with getting tarps back in the box so I just strapped my center tarp on top of chain rack. Most Melton trucks I see have them up there as well.

It was a bit of extra work to get them in the box but it always feels nice to lock them up and not look at them for a while.

    jsprocket and dennisroc Thank this.
