no did not pass i need to get glasses but hopefully take care of that today thank goodness for union insurance. if any of you plan on going for your first time like i did try not to be nervous. when the lady was taking my blood pressure for some reason became so nervous and i told her, reading was about 160. we continued with the rest. did eye exam and almost past i had 20/40 vision on my left eye and 20/50 on my right so that was the reason i did not pass. urine sample was good. check to see if i could identify colors. at this point i felt alot more relaxed and she checked my blood pressure. i used some of the tactics i read on here such as thinking of pleasant thoughts and i had a reading of 120. did hearing test that was simple. worst part was when she said she was going to check for hernias, i did not know how they check for hernias. the exam was fairly cheap only paid $75. so once i get my eyes corrected i have to go back and redo my eye exam.
just came back from dot physical

The minute I walk in the door to one of these places the anxiety level sky rockets especially when they are in small rooms on an upper level. Yup, I got some issues lol
-
I took my physical the other day for an additional two years and everything went fine.
The assistant was pleasant to look at so that helped, although, I'm a young guy and didn't have much to worry about in the first place.
The docs procedure for the hernia check was a bit different, wasn't exposed like they normally have you. I had a hernia was back in the day and he said they did a great job at stitching me up. For people with slight complications, e.g. weight, eyes, bp, you should look up the requirements before taking the physical so you're not down there sweating bullets knowing your body is not in tip top shape. -
Just make sure the DOT medical gets registered with your State DMV.
tow614 and macmanboomer Thank this. -
Mine was a bit different this last time too. I was fully clothed as the exam started and it is just a yes or no question on the form, so I figured I would be ASKED if I had a hernia considering my exam was administered by a female Chiropractor.
But at one point she had me laying on the exam table to check something that I don't even remember now. Then she asked me to lift my legs together and about 6 inches off the table. All of a sudden she slid her fingers of both hands down my pants up to about her thumbs.
--Kind of bizarre. -
With one finger at a time the doctor checked the side of my nuts while I coughed and that was that. -
just had my DOT done too recently and the lady doc asked me if I needed a chaperone before she checked the " tackle" for the big H......
" Oh really" I said, "and what are you really going to do if I say no!" With a wry smile.
We had a good laugh about that. At my age, you can say pretty much anything to a mature lady doc and get away with it.
I've had a double hernia op, so it's not an issue, but she still wanted to check Down stairs anyway.
A lot of fuss about nothing !! -
had an eye exam getting glasses woo hoo. (sarcasim) insurance is pretty nice to cover most i only paid 30 bucks for glasses and exam.
