I just finished my training period and will soon be heading out in my own truck. I am looking for advice on equipment. What kind of basic CB should I get ? What about an antenae (to lazy to use dictionary to look up correct spelling) Do I realy need to get it tuned ? What about a plug in cooler. I was looking at a Coleman 40 qt. What about those plug in slow cookers or ovens ? Which ones work the best ? What about those beverage or soup heaters. Thanks for the advise.

Message me with your email and I have a list on Excel of all the things for the last 2 months that others said would be good to have with web site links.

I don't have enough posts to message anyone. I'm working on it. Any advice for cooking gear would be appreciated. I see ovens and slow cookers at the truck stops How well do those work ? Also what is a good tv antena to use. The rabbit ears aren't working well.

I'm also looking for stuff. Things I think I'll need: Fridge Microwave laptop lcd tv cb Amateur radio (2 meter minimum) Cell phone with very large coverage. Good speaker set for music gun. - This I know is trouble crossing state lines and being in a vehicle. But I also know for a fact that drivers have them, and I haven't slept without one for years .

As far as having the weapon in the truck with you, take it at your own risk, You will be in violation of local laws if they apply, and could easily find yourself in the local slammer. There is simply no need to have a gun in a truck, when things like pepper spray and some of your work tools are available. If I were threatened, I would use a large hammer out of my truck, but I would never take the risk of having a gun along. And it's not because i don't have one that's easily concealable. There is one located about 2.5 foot from where my fingers are typing, but in the truck, I am risking way too much to bring one along. I need my freedom, and don't like small town jails. Not real fond of big town ones either....

Hi there. I've been on the road with hubby for over a month now and we're still trying to find a GOOD cooler. Tried a Wal-Mart fridge - nope. Wouldn't run. :biggrin_25513:

Tried a supposedly high quality awesome Koolatron cooler. It ran for a day then quit. It won't run. :biggrin_25513:

I know our inverter is good because we've used the microwave and a toaster so it's not the inverter. Maybe just bad luck...:biggrin_25521:

I'm getting really frustrated throwing out food that spoils. I have an ice cooler for my pop and things that don't leak in a bouncy truck but I want a cooler that works, that is reliable, that will keep my food COLD!!!!

Any suggestions???? please???? :biggrin_25514: It's way too expensive to keep eating out on the road.

    Thank you :)
