...just made the decision to "change" my career and become a truck driver. I currently work about 70 hours a week and bring home (net) under $400 a week, a pound of metal dust in my sinus cavity, a half dozen burns and cuts and a damaged ego from having done everything wrong! In my few remaining hours a week I have been studying for the CDL, researching schools, applying for G.I. benefits, researching companies and reading this forum.
So -- glad to be here and thanks for all the great information!
Just getting started!

Good for you; trucking is a rewarding career if you choose carefully. Get all the endorsements, TWIC and a passport so you will have more options to choose from. Study the tests at the top of this page "CDL Practice Tests." By researching and choosing carefully, no reason not to make $800 - $1200 a week as a new driver.

Thanks for the encouraging words!
