just getting started

Hello all. I am just getting the ball rolling. Just filled out all the applications for the various OTR companies. I guess the trucking school I will (hopefully) be going to will shotgun them out and I beg for prehires. I say hopefully because if the state backs out of paying for it here, I will be back at step one. Likely backing myself into the ugly corner and signing with a company who will pay for training and drain my blood, if I can't figure something else out. But, Im staying positive and moving forward on my current path for now.

Im in Michigan and going to be going to International Trucking School Inc.

Im hoping to get hooked up with TransAm, USA Truck or Maverick.

Also looking at Werner, though I have heard some bad things about them. Hell, I have heard and read bad things about every company and they are all the same complaints... so.

Im open to anyone who won't drag me down and have me running totally outlaw and willing to pay and play fair (within reason). I just need my foot in the door, a year on the road, and I will have more options. But, I won't completely screw myself over if I can help it.

I am going for solo. I can't picture myself being someone who would mesh with the team driving option very well. In fact, I know it wouldn't work.

Im out of Lansing Michigan and plan on being on the road 4-7 weeks at a time. You ever hear Metalhead on the CB, with Down, Crowbar, Pantera or Corrosion of Conformity in the background (hell, any southern metal really) its probably me.

I just hope I can bring my #### dog. Not sure how I would get the Bullmastiff in and out of the truck though. Any suggestions? I can go without seeing my old lady, don't know if I can go without seeing my dog.
