Just getting statred

    Hi my name is Bob and I'm in the final stages before attending Swift traing in Lewiston Id. After being a Professional carpenters for 26 years I;m done. Done with the roller coaster ride of constuction and employers trying to get me to work for less money time and time again, So open road here I come. I realize to gain somthing who have to sacrifice also, but you get out what you put in to it. would like to hear any advice you all might have for me. Thanks and Keep it safe.:biggrin_25523:

    Welcome. Write down the date and time you leave home on your first trip, then write down the date and time you get back home. Then divide the hours you were away into what the gross pay is. That will be your per hour pay (including sleeping) you earned while away from home. You can take away all sleeper hours and refigure again to give a more accurate per hour earned pay. Each week will vary according to how much you sit for loads etc. Most OTR drivers won't figure pay like this but I used to do it for shock therapy on myself and just for the heck of it LOL. Every carpenter I ever hired was pretty expensive..I thought anyway. Good luck.
