    Yes. Go to court.

Check your employee handbook. If you're still on probation they can probably fire you for any or no reason. If they fire you, you can probably drive for Swift.

I do find it funny that in my 20 years I have never pled a moving violation to a non moving one.

Keep your mouth shut at work.

Put on a shirt and tie and go to court. Tell the judge you have a CDL and this can affect your job and can you please pay the fine with no points on your record. 99% sure he/she will do it. Seen it done many times. The judge may make it what is called cumulative. That means if in one year you get another ticket he will not only put points on your record for the current ticket but will bring this ticket back for points also.

My friends daughter just went through this. 85 in a 55. No points, just a fine.

Don't pay it. Get a lawyer and fight it. The cop might not even show up to court, and you get it dismissed.

i got one of these in CA while in my POV where a stop sign was obscured by construction debris, granted the cop had been waiting nearby parked in the dark, but he knew i had been there before and i should have known stop sign was there so it was a difficult argument to make to him, i considered fighting it but an attorney told me it is nearly impossible to plead down a failure to obey traffic signal--judge will ask you, "did you stop or not?" theory is the potential consequences of not stopping outweigh any excuses and even if you had a good excuse and hit someone you would still be held responsible, very black and white

i paid the court fees and i went to traffic school and got the AF note on my MVR which masks the point somehow to some parties--can't remember who, and attending school mitigates the offense because it shows the court i want to be a safe driver, total paid was about $700, my POV insurance did not increase and violation comes off my record in about 3 years, no big whoop

of course i reported the ticket to my trucking company when i applied for the job and it went on my company personnel record but safety did not consider it a significant nor career altering event, maybe because it's the only moving violation i have received in over 40 years of POV driving? because no one was hurt? at the end of the day it was just a bear hiding in the bushes waiting for someone to run the hidden stop sign and then the city could force a little revenue from a working stiff

Real world, if you hire a lawyer and go to court you had better have something other then I did not do it the officer is wrong for a defense! If you do and the officer does show up your out on all 3 situations. Your out the fine, your out the time off and your out the money for the attorney. The reason for this is most all judges in a he said I said will ALMOST ALWAYS believe the officer over you. You might get the charges reduced but there is no guarantee of this. If you are truly innocent fight it, but if you did run that light put your big boy pants on and pay the fine.
