Last load I hauled out of CA of any length was in early July. I pulled a load of juice from City of Industry to Sumner, WA in my 53' dry van. Broker paid me $4,200 on 1,130 miles.
I strung a couple loads together on the way down that paid $2,300. So, the rountrip paid $6,500. Which worked out to about $2.87 a mile.
Not too bad, but I'm doing everything I can to stay out of there!blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Although with the risk of sounding geezerly, leased to a big California based trucking company back in the regulation days,I would mostly go back east with more money than I came out, specialized class rated machinery ltl freight both ways. Always ran out of trailer space,42' step or DD,rarely gross out. Lots of work building a load, but some of the best money I ever had came from Cali. Always would put you in a good mood with 4 or 5 bol's in your pocket.
Times have sure changed. The internet has made it a free for all cluster.Last edited: Sep 7, 2018
