Don't know about schnieder. Prime reefer lease pays 72% of line haul 100% of fsu. Not sure about tanker I believe its 71%.
Rates are not some mythical mysterious creature that can never be seen, found or learned about. So the perspective "% of what" is misleading as if one thinks they are completely in the dark as to what the rate will be. But we can easily find what national average rates are http://www.dat.com/resources/trendlines along with a lot more information on rates.

There is a copy of the invoice to the customer for every load I pull at the bottom of my statement so I can see what the customer was billed. If you had companies embezzle money from you well I'm sorry to hear that, but I don't believe its happening here at prime. I'm an o/o leased to prime, I also joined a load broad solely to learn more about rates. The load board posts average rates for lanes so I check those rates against my own. This gives me further conformation that my carrier is being honest. I can also say that from comparing the rates I'm seeing with my own I'm without a doubt better off being leased here than I would be on my own.

Percentage is great if a carrier has their own freight.
When they send you double brokered loads, you'll feel it.
Broker probably takes 15-20%, prime takes another 28%, you get what's left. So it's not 72% of total line haul per se. It's 72% of whatever is passed on to Prime. After their 1% in fees or whatever that comes straight off the top.
So you'll likely never see the rate, if anything just what prime is getting out of it. That's why % of ? = ?

Nothing against Prime, that happens almost everywhere.

Exactly this is why you want to be with a good large carrier when freight rates are on a down turn like they are now. Anytime you're leased to a carrier you need contracted freight. And whose going to have more of it, a small mom and pop carrier, or a large one with a dedicated sales department made up of college educated personnel, who under go constant training, which a large carrier has the experience and resources to provide?
So you have no experience with prime as an I/C yet your able to tell me my rates are double brokered? Based on what info are you making these claims?

There is no 1% in fees "coming straight off the top". Its 72% that's what's legally binding, that's what's in the contract.

We never see the rate? Did you miss the part about where I said we see what's billed to the customer? We get people in here who make a bunch of absorbent claims based on little knowledge and no experience all the time.

Look I'm sorry if that happened to you elsewhere, really am. But with no experience with the carrier you're passing around the attitude that because that happened to you somewhere else and you're still bitter about it (understandably) that it happens here.

As i/c's here we aren't under forced dispatch so if a load doesn't pay what an I/C needs it to, turn it down. Pick up the phone call dispatch tell them the rate doesn't meet your criteria, tell them what you need out of the load to make it make more since for you. You can also cut off your nose here as well so be careful.

Though they never show what they bill the customer. But that's good though. Wish my company show the rate. I'm on a sliding pay scale. Not bad but not great. I'm doing OK I want more tho I'm thinking about leaving. I'm giving it a few more months I've only been doing it 3 month I'm giving it sometime and see. What division you're in?

I wasn't talking badly about prime or any company in specific at all
That's just a common downfall to percentage pay that a lot of people don't realize until after the fact.

Personally I think prime is one of the better deals omitting the ridiculous truck payments. I remember reading somewhere that 1% of the gross rate goes to some sort of fee and the remainder is what the 72% is taken from. I've read about a lot of companies though and I could be switching them up in my mind.

I'm in reefer. Well stick it out where you are then a little while longer and see if it gets better, instead of just bailing at first sign of trouble, I respect that action for sure. I hope it does and things do get better for you where you are. If they don't and you decide you want to have a look at prime give recruiting call. I would imagine you can just get fleet average numbers for whatever division you're interested in from recruiting. I've never had any trouble getting those numbers,
Prime's always been pretty open with me about their rates. Best of luck.
