I am going with Prime, have an orientation set up for the end of this month. I am still in school, can you give me some insight on how they pair you with a trainer?? I am hoping to end up like you with one that likes to run and make money. It makes me a little nervous as I don't want to get stuck with someone who wants to hang out in the truck stops. Did you already have a trainer when you went to orientation??? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU!!!!

WELL TO AZCATS QUESTIONS ,FIRST THING WHAT TERMINAL ARE YOU GOING TO ?? I WAS AT THEIR PITTSTON TERMINAL ,SECOND THEY PAIR YOU UP WITH A TRAINER BY ACTUALLY ASKING YOU WHO YOU PREFER TO BE WITH FEMALE OR MALE TRAINER,SMOKER OR NONE SMOKER . FIRST DAY OF ORIENTATION THEY MAKE YOU TAKE A DRUG TEST ,PHYSICAL AND IF THERE IS NOT A LOT OF TRAINEES THEN EVEN A ROAD TEST!! (ALOT TO DO IN ONE DAY !!) _____DONT DRINK ANY ALCOHOL WHILE IN ORIENTATION ______IN MY WEEK OF ORIENTATION HAD TWO GUYS KICK FOR THAT !!! DONT DO ANY THING STUPID IN YOUR HOTEL ROOM BECAUSE THEY WATCH YOU GUYS THERE LIKE HAWKS --IF YOU CANT ACT LIKE PROFESSIONALS IN THERE ROOMS THEY WONT HIRE YOU!! , AND THE ROAD TEST THEY MAKE YOU TAKE IS IN THEIR YARD ,ITS A STRAIGHT LINE BACK ,LANE CHANGE SIMULATED,AND ALLY DOCK . JUST BE SMART AND DONT SHOW YOUR ###!! OR IT WILL BE YOUR ### OUT THE DOOR! I MY CLASS HAD 25 TRAINEES AND FIRST DAY LOST 2 ,SECOND DAY LOST 2 MORE AND BY THE END OF ORIENTATION WE WHERE DOWN TO 18 TRAINEES FROM 25!! SO FAR I LIKE THIS COMPANY ((( KNOCK ON WOOD))) AND IF YOU DONT LIKE YOUR TRAINER THAT YOU GET YOU CAN ALWAYS GET A NEW ONE ! THERE ARE SOME DIRTY ,NASTY DRIVERS OUT THERE ,AND YOU DONT HAVE TO BE STUCK WITH ONE! WELL HOPE THIS HELPS ,KEEP IN TOUCH ,GOD BLESS YOU!
AZ CATS Thanks this. -
It is the luck of the draw. After orientation you will be assigned a FM and he will match you up with a trainer whoever is available. Based on sex and smoking perference. During my training I had four(one quit the co, then after home time one did not want to train any more, he was not a trainer anyways ( I even had to pay for my own showers with him what a looser), one had hometime after I did so got the fourth. I had my 60000 in 3 months running coast to coast avg over 5000 miles a week some over 6000 which is good because you are paid extra over the guarantee if over 5000 miles a week. Most trainers will run due to making lease payments.
NO-WAY-OUT!! and AZ CATS Thank this. -
sorry didnt answer this question ,they pair you up when you get their ,the day before you get hired i think it like wendsday or thursday ,also make sure you have all your work history up to date and your personal references straight , emergency contacts ,bring your birth certificate ,ssn, greencard ,(if not citizen ) passport ,and dont lie on you app. And you be fine

Thanks for the replies fellas, I am going to the Springfield Missouri, terminal. I am not worried about a drug test no problem their, and I am not a drinker. I am very clean and physically fit. This is going to be a new career for me not just some place to play and screw around. I want to make a good living and have fun doing it. I was in a job for 20yrs that I should have gotten out of after 10. So I am now going to do something I have always wanted to do. And from what I read in your posts you seem to be having fun....... (knock on wood) I am a realist and expect challenges in this industry, as any industry. But I think for the most part with a good adittude it will be a very rewarding one. Meeting alot of differant people and seeing this beautiful country of ours. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

If your running as a team, and only doing 6,000 miles a week something not right!

You have the right mind set !! It is a fun and rewarding job ,you just have to be smart and patience ,and you will get far in this industry ,just be willing to stay out for 4-6 weeks at a time and it will be all goodAZ CATS Thanks this.

I am looking forward to being out 4-6 weeks. That being said I have yet to experience it, but again with the right adittude anything can be done.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!
