Just got my CDL. Best company to start off at?

    How’s it going! Im from Las Vegas and I just got my CDL last week. I’ve been reaching out to different companies and after doing some research I want to go with Schneider. I have my phone interview scheduled for this Friday with them and I want to make a decision by next week. So I’m asking for you guys to help me out on which company I should start off at before I end up going with them. I also don’t mind pulling reefer or dry van.

    If you want to run the roads, there's better choices than Schneider.
    I'm not knocking Schneider, but there's better paying jobs for Las Vegas drivers.
    I'll give you a list of some companies that hire new cdl school grads from Las Vegas.

    I appreciate the help! I was actually looking into Crete, I’ll go ahead and submit an application to Dutch Maid and Crete and reach out to both companies tomorrow. I also spoke to Navajo but the starting pay was really low for new CDL holders.

    • Home Daily - Las Vegas is mainly loading gypsum in Vegas then to California, Victorville area, then cement to California high desert and inland empire (local area Ready Mix plant deliveries) return cement loads to Las Vegas.
    • OTR - LV – to Santa Maria, CA – New cdl school grads: We can hire students for this position. Cannot have any restrictions on CDL. Load Gypsum in Las Vegas to Tehachapi, CA then load coal to Santa Maria, CA. They will pull 2-3 loads per week.
