1 year card is fine. There might be one company somewhere that won't hire you, but the other 10,000 companies can hire you. Stay on your medication.

    Concorde and MSWS Thank this.

Problem will be with the last four years work history.
My situation was almost identical to yours and I struggled to get hired. I had a pre-hire from Schneider while in CDL school, then the phone interview after graduating. They wouldn’t even give me the courtesy of a rejection email never mind a phone call..just got put on ignore.

Best I could tell you is find a friend with a business that can say you worked for them. That’s what I ended up having to do.

The 1 year card is no big deal. I'll probably never get 2 years again because of my meds for heart disease. 1 year is still pretty good. It keeps you eligible to work. Sometimes companies have you go to their doctor, and they give healthy people 1 year. I got started at Western Express in 2010, and I was 25 then. They saw that I had too much protein in my urine and their doctor gave me a 1 year card because of that. Crazy lol. I was able to work though.

One of my trainers at Mills was so fat and unhealthy that he could only get a 3 month card. True story.

I got hired with a 3 month card the food service company didn’t even bat an eyelash. My BP was crazy high due to being OTR. Eat, drive, sleep. I was actually eating subway a lot. lol. I didn’t care cause I was going into foodservice delivery with a purpose. At the time I was 32 years old 270lbs. Dropped 30lbs in 3 months and was on Bp meds got it under control for a year card after 3 months. What a wake up call. I don’t think companies care unless your DQ. It might have changed but half the industry is on a one year card. I think 2 year cards are now a rarity.

They will have to call and document the conversation.
