Thanks I'll go check them out, I seen their bright yellow trucks just the other day around where I live.

And the sad part is the siren song of earnings managed to attract bad drivers like the Sirens in the Mythology that attracted Homer and his female starved bunch of shipmates desperate to resolve that little problem in life.

Thanks, I will look into each one you forward to me. I am somewhat familiar with Superior. I also looked into LCL and HR Ewell.

Where at in the Philadelphia area bud? I drove up there for years and personally know guys at most of the ltl barns so I can probably give you a lil insight into a few companies.

You have a few options in Montgomery county which would be like a 40-45 minute drive for you as long as you don't work rush hour. Volpe in phoenixville would be worth calling. Great benefits, local 384, great pay. If you call them DO NOT take a job with them under fox logistics. It's the same uniform, same truck, just like $9/hr less, it's like a company inside of a company doing the same thing. I'm not sure how the drive would be but you have UPS freight in Pottstown, if you can stomach the drive to west Chester (I did for 17 years) you have A Duie Pyle which is a kick ### company that would probably start you on the dock but put you in a truck in short order. I have a few friends that drive there and love it! I know central transport came up but every driver I have ever talked with at hated it and I seen plenty of them because their barn was literally right next door to mine. Another word of advice is once you get a good paying job move your ### out to Delco or Chester county to stop paying the wage tax. There is XPO in concordville (Chester heights/Delco) that has a lot of good people working there, I know XPO gets some bad talk but that barn is filled with a solid crew of drivers and management. Those are just a few of the non huge companies that you can always try

What gives you the impression you would mainly be a dockworker at Estes? Sure, they have a dock-to-driver program but that's just to get your CDL and you already have that. There are some good threads on Estes on this forum and I can't remember any of their linehaul drives talking about working the docks before they head out.
