Just got my class A w/ all endorsements and yes....Just paid my additional Haz Mat background fees. (Curious of how long that will take). I used to drive local P & D many years ago for Watkins Motorlines out of Vernon, Ca. I spent over 7 years there pulling just about every trailer type. Now it looks like I will likely be joining one of these trucking companies that offers driver training and such in order to complete my license. I'm going to speak to a Schneider recruiter tomorrow only because they are having a seminar nearby. I'm in no rush to make a decision until I speak to a few companies and hopefully get some helpful advice from you.
My question to you is who do you recommend I sign up with? So many choices and they all have so much to offer. I'm no idiot, I'm well aware that they will promise you just about anything to hook you in. I don't mind sticking around with a company that invests their time on me. I'm loyal to those that extend a helping hand, but at the same time, I don't want to spend that time feeling like their prisoner or or worse yet, their slave.
That said, I will probably stay local and even regional. I'm not looking to go cross country or be away from home for more than three or even four days at a time. The southwest is far enough for me.
Thank for your time.
Just got my class A permit w/ all endorsements. Suggestions?

Schnieder is FAR superior to western express... only recomend western express to your enemies...they must be the bottom of company of trucking be warned about them.
Rubenzo Thanks this. -
Thank you all for your prompt response, I value your input. And yes, I will stay to the right. I consider myself a good driver, but not too cool for school.

Congrat's Good Choice...
Rubenzo Thanks this. -
Update....turns out the recruiting was more of a "Come sign up to trucking classes sponsored by Roadmaster Driving School". I was under the impression that Schneider was going to school me, but lesson learned. I don't have 3 to 6k to fork out.
Are there any companies that offer to drive with you for a day or two then to the DMV so that you may test? I drove in the past but let my license go. It's been a few years since I got behind the wheel, but
I have much to learn about Regional and OTR driving. I just want to get started.
