I tried changing the radius to 300 during the total shutdown, but Progressive said that first year you can't get it lower than a 500 miles radius. I don't know if true or not, or they tried to rip me off cause I called them too many times trying to figure out if I got all the discounts.

So did they not push through the regulation that would have required 2 million liability? I remember reading something along those lines on here several months back....

To the OP, that is killer. Inexperience, and a bad safety record is the kiss of death when it comes to CMV insurance.

    Beaver9 Thanks this.

With that high rate, how much would they have required up front?

That is pretty good! My first year it was 22K. But I got it close to 20K later on after changing the radius. My second year is like your first year quote. But I hope to pay in full for the second year to save 2K. So, I am all right there.

It didn't pass yet as a requirement. But you need only 100,000 for Cargo, not more.

Where you live makes a big difference. I'm in WA and got reasonable deal from Progressive when I got authority last year. New truck, 5 yr old flatbed trailer, 48 states 1M liability, 150k cargo and vehicle coverage $14400 a year.
