That's what I was thinking. I've heard rumors of cops not giving you any paper at all, but end up getting a ticket in the mail days later.

Camera tickets did not go on your record.
Even when we had the bears in the air deals, they had guys on the ground to physically hand you a ticket, that you signed, and an officer to go to court if you fought it.
I have never heard of an officer stopping you then mailing you a ticket, I have seen tickets come up later after an accident site was investigated.

I once was following my GPS after I missed the correct turn.
The road it had me turning on to had a length restriction that was not pre-posted or known by the GPS.
When I got to the right turn I knew the turn would be tight and I was waiting for traffic to clear. Before it did a cop pulled in front of my truck.
    It was also rush hour.
He told me if I went that way I might have trouble with a couple tight turns on the 2 lane road, but better to try that than try to back up or make a u-turn.
He would have had to stop all traffic in a busy intersection for a u-turn.

Nothing was said about a ticket, and he did mention truckers often make that mistake.
No ticket was issued, and I was very careful on that road.

Some cops are very understanding and really try to help us out.

It seems like the no truck signs are always visable after you get turned on to the road, as often as not I have just gone on if there was not a handy place to turn around close. I have been lucky and never had a ticket for it, knock on wood.

Not true ... you can get tickets without a signature. When I was a carrier I saw it all the time.

Yeah and halfway covered by a bush or the sign is so tiny and faded u couldnt see it even if u was looking for it. Sometimes i think they do it on purpose and catch u when having a rough day
