I have about two hours of driving until I get to my drop. Can I keep rolling or will it go into derate before I get there?

If it’s asking for a parked regen, it will most likely derate.

The light has now gone off. As far as I know I don't think I can do a forced Regen on the International.

What happens when you run out of def. With and without needing a regen? Asking for a friend.

Sure you can, it should show you on the drivers side visor how to do a parked regen.

    Just put more in.

It depends. Some derate to 55. Some have a timer for it others count miles till a derate. I drove pos Volvo. It would give you a 100 miles. Take over an hour to do a parked Regen.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

It won't run. It will go into derate and gradually take power from the engine until you're forced to stop until you fill it up.

The International I drive has never asked for a parked regen when driving. It regens while I drive. The only time I ever had to do a parked regen was after idling for 12 hours.

On the Internationals we run, you cannot do a regen unless the system tells you that you need to. Shop has to hook up the laptop to force a regen.

On freightliner, I can only do a parked regen when it says it needs one; but, I’ve sat in the drivers seat doing a high idle for 30-50min (pressing on the accelerator), gotten the hot exhaust light, and the soot level gauge went from OK to Good. My current truck has required regens more than any past one and often at inopportune times (even had the parked regen light come on while driving), so I got tired of waiting for the light to come on and will occasionally just do it myself preemptively.

not sure about the international trucks but freightliner no longer has regen switch, you have to go through menu and click on Ok for Regen
