You pretty smart fella being as you are on the wrong side of the Rabun County line. LOL. Totally kidding. Worked Rabun EMS outta Clayton late '80's. Lived over the pool hall. Loved it except for the Gorge. Worked many a bad one where some fool had too much to drink at, and after, the races and went into the Gorge. An hour or more to rappel down with gear your guys would line down to us. Two hours to get them back up if it was only one. Life Flight outta GA Baptist would come but only land on the highway. We had to get the patient up to them. The boys from UHAS outta Augusta were as nuts as us. Ex- Vietnam medevac pilots. They'd land on the highway, take us on and buzz us down into the Gorge and let us rappel down and winch up the patient while hovering in the Gorge. Never forget them days. Some ###### fine folks in Rescue in both Rabun and Stephens. Real "just get it done" folks. Involve Habersham and Hall and you got "protocol". Hall more than Habersham. Both had noses in the air, though. GA County politics. One of the reasons I went into trucking. How I landed in the Low Country of SC is a long story I won't tie everything up here with.

    Excellent post and spot on.
