Can your husband take the pets with him while you go to school? Driving rollbacks pulling dumpsters is a fun local job.

No....hubby won't take the animals. One cat needs sub-q fluids every other day for renal failure - he's doing great! Hubby doesn't even like to see me do it... Another one needs pilling twice a day for the rest of his life - and I was just in the hospital for surgery on Dec. 6th and nobody got their meds till I got home again. That wasn't a good thing. 5 cats and 1 dog - the Border Collie is 14 1/2 years old and she's having a hard time getting around - there's no way she'd manage in a truck. Hubby also won't clean litter boxes. Ya.... that wouldn't be good. :biggrin_2559:

Hey Animalangel, you can still take your animals otr. My wife and I drove team and we took our great dane with us. She had addisons disease and needed medication everyday. Once a month she needed a shot so when we were at home we learned how to do the shot from the vet and then we stocked up on the medicine everytime we came home. Once a month otr we would give the dog her shot. It really wasn't that big of a deal.
    Just an option!

Well, Casey (the dog) probably won't be with us much longer... I actually didn't think she's make it till Christmas. But she is going downhill fast. We'd have to carry her in and out of the truck which is bad enough without carrying a 52 lb dog: probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to try. The cats would be all over us driving.... Have 2 lap cats and the others would want to lay on the dash. His company doesn't allow pets anyway..... seems like a lot of trouble. Also hauling around the IV setups and stuff.... nah..... I'll just get a local job.

Before you do anything, find a home for your animals, Sad, you have to dump your pets, to drive a dump.

No, that is not an option. I won't have to give them up at all for any reason. I just won't apply to any job that might require it. I've been in the workforce for 40 years and have never had to re-home a pet due to a job and I'm not going to now. No job is worth that to me - there's always something else out there.

    JimDriv3r Thanks this.
