Today this Friday before Memorial Day Weekend I saw 3 boat trailers with flat or missing tires in my 500 miles trip.
    Anyone else notice any?

Should I check the tires before the trip? Na, I'm sure they were fine all winter long!

I have a 1997 suv that I have put new tires on twice based on age, not tread wear. People don’t think about the 7 year old tires on their motor home because they still have good tread.

We replaced two so far this year. Both of the then new ones had accumulated only 23000 miles before Mr Pothole took them out.

We put basic midrange 50K mile tires with traction a up front to balance the other older two with about that much remaining. We probably will replace those after next winter.

My tahoe has a mix of used tires on all 4. half treads and nitrogen in them. It does not get driven often enough to matter in terms of mileage. They probably will rot in a couple years and be replaced again.

Our roads are in bad shape anyway being replaced for the future I-57. Until that happens we use small state roads that are not in bad shape yet and out of route to get to little rock.

Summer is just about here. The blown torn apart tires are already filling our shoulders on the freeway. People do not pay attention to them like they should.

We are also leaning towards buying full trucks. They can take a beating way better than our cars can these days. Most cars made after 2005 are showing signs of being really crappy.
