Not my money and the owner of the company talked to the seller for quite awhile before making the decision, he wont buy newer than 07 any way. I'll drive what I'm given been made to drive a lot older vehicles in past jobs.

If you take and divide it in half your paying 15 for the truck & 15 for the trailer. Then your getting all the equipment in the truck and on the trailer, well over 3k for free. Then factor in your not paying the full 30k and the truck can start making money right away...seems like a win win to me..?

Yes, I would take the 10 year old truck as well......and I did!

I would put my 03 up against any truck made within the last 5 years any day. In fact I still run a 1986 now and then, LOL.

    Truck payment = $0.

I've seen a few cabovers that weren't being driven by Mexicans. Gotta be at least 25 years old there.

Assuming age has anything to do with truck condition is amateur hour at best.

If your boss did his duty in getting the truck n trailer inspected like checking engine pressures, oil leaks, air leaks, suspension and brakes you should be alright. There is nothing worse than being put out of service by DOT or down time do to breakdowns good luck n always keep your ears up for strange litlle noises that weren't there before.

I'll take 10 y/o eq over this new DPF/DEF crap that's constantly breaking down. As long as it's road worthy and comfortable who really cares what the age of it is. Does it pay more to drive a 2012 fleet truck....I highly doubt it.

I'm with Rogue! There's no way I would buy the 07'! Had three brand new ones and not one of them could I keep out of the shop! That was the year they revamped the fuel emissions.
