I just payed off my truck and ready to go Independent. I was hoping to ask for everything I need permits, Mc, dot, suggested ELD'S to use as well as good insurance providers. I run everywhere. I may try to do power only for a little while. Any tips would be very thankful*aside for don't do it* I rather deal with everything myself then working under someone anymore. The company I was contracted with I was finding my loads which is why Independent made more sense.

I would suggest joining ooida. It's only about $45 for the year and if you pay them to do your Authority they will make sure everything is done right. They will also send you your driver file and trip sheet forms for ifta and that type of thing. It is an absolute excellent investment for an owner operator.

And if you are a member any questions that you have about permits or being in compliance or biannual update or whatever else you can call them and ask.

Trailers are expensive right now but you can make a lot more with your own trailer than with power only. You just have so much more dexterity.

Insurance you just have to call around.

Yes. I suggest ooida do your paperwork. They done all my paperwork minus insurance and ifta/IRP… and for members I believe they do our boc-3 free

    Theleftmate Thanks this.
